I got about 50 pages into this novel and put it down, afraid to continue. I do not subscribe to the Carroll Myth and from some uncomfortable insinuations I gathered that the author did and I wasn't comfortable with reading that kind of fare. However, I have a hard time not finishing what I have started and I picked it up again today. I hardly put it back down. I ended up really enjoying this book. I feel like the author did a good job of somehow making the story work for those who do believe the stories about Dodgson and those who do not. I really don't think, as some other reviewers, that this book ruins the "Alice" books at all. If you are interested in one woman's believable interpretation of the life of Alice Liddell, the inspiration for "Alice in Wonderland" then I would definitely recommend this book.
